Hello! Today is a big day! I finally get to check off a major goal from my January goal list! I am so excited to announce to you all that I have finally chosen a new name for my blog! And, along with my new name I have created and designed a new website/blog. This is something I have wanted to do for a long time but was intimidated by the idea of setting up a new URL and committing to a more permanent name. But, I have finally taken the plunge so I present to you, lavenderkay.com!
I chose the name, Lavender Kay, because Kay is a very special name to me as it was my mother’s middle name, and I just like lavender. This project has been a labor of love, and I have spent a lot of time getting it ready. I am still working out all the bugs, and plan to make many more changes as time goes on, but I couldn’t wait any longer to show you my new site!
I really wanted to make it so that you didn’t have to re-subscribe to the new site, but I haven’t gotten that part figured out so if you don’t mind, I would love it if you re-subscribed to my blog at lavenderkay.com. I would be sooo sad to loose any of you as followers, and would be honored if you just took 30 seconds to re-subscribe! I also wanted to say thank you to you all for following along with me on the exciting journey! I have loved reading your comments, and can’t wait to share so much more on my new site!
To celebrate my new blog, I have put together a new post on lavender kay that I have been wanting to share with you for a long time. I worked on a really fun branding project that I would love for you to check out! So, if you haven’t already clicked on one of my links, I invite you to head on over to my new site by clicking here. See you over at lavenderkay.com!
Happy Friday! What are your weekend plans? Jonathan and I have a big (and exciting!) decision to make over the weekend. Our big move to Milwaukee is getting closer and closer, leaving us with lots of future planning and decision making. Hopefully I can share details soon!
I have also been working on some really fun design projects lately. And, today I’m extra excited because I just picked up some beautiful prints from the print shop for one of the projects! I will be packaging up some pretty paper to drop in the mail today! I will share this fun project with you as soon as I can!
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
Ps. I posted the above picture because it reminds me so much of Oregon! Jonathan and I love going on a hike near house that looks just like this! Especially the misty sky!
Hi friends! Happy Monday! What did you do over the weekend? My final drawing is due tomorrow so I worked on that ALL weekend. The project is to draw 3 thematically related compositions, and you have to spend at least 20 hours on them. I am very excited about how my project turned out so I thought I would give you a little preview. The design below is a part of my final project. I drew one of my wedding pictures in black pen, and it was so fun!
Have a fabulous Monday!
Hi friends! I am really sorry that I have been MIA lately! School has been really crazy and it has forced me to take a few days off of blogging. For the next few weeks there may be less posts throughout the week, but I promise I am still here and I hope to get back to full time posts soon! Thank you for following me along the way, this journey has been amazing!
In the mean time I wanted to leave you with a project I have been working on. I was assigned a project where I had to draw a self portrait in Illustrator, and here is what I made. I plan to re-work it again before it goes into my portfolio, but here is what I have so far.
I hope you all have a fabulous Wednesday!
Good morning friends! How is your week going? I am so happy because Jonathan has the day off today, and my teacher unexpectedly cancelled my morning class so we enjoyed a yummy breakfast together! We ate some really tasty crepes and brewed some french press coffee. If you have noticed already, we are huge breakfast people! Ha!
Today I wanted to share with you a little design project I did for a homework assignment. All of my classes require us to design a cover for our notebooks, and we have free reign to design it however we like. I wanted to incorporate a picture of my sweet nephew that I took at the coast last fall, and here is what I came up with. (The one for class is a little different because I had to include some class information as well.)
Good morning! I can’t believe it is Monday already! How was your weekend? Jonathan and I had a great weekend. Yesterday we went for another great hike, and when we got back we made the most amazing breakfast. We had coconut pancakes, homemade hash browns, and a steaming pot of coffee. It was heaven!
Today I wanted to share with you a project I finished up awhile back. I designed a birthday invitation for a vintage, circus themed party. I had so much fun designing these invites, and it was a great opportunity for me to practice the pen tool.
I hope you all have a fabulous Monday!
